Montreal, Canada, January 25, 2018 – Montreal based independent game studio Tribute Games is today excited to reveal that on February 6th critically acclaimed 2d side-scrolling platformer Mercenary Kings will set its sights on a new huge revamp solidifying Tribute Games marquee title as its definitive adaptation. If you like Metal Slug you’ll probably like Mercenary Kings. Though you might not get through it all.Tribute Games Poised to Launch Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition on February 6, 2018 Across PlatformsĪction pack side-scrolling retro shooter to drop additional content and features on Switch, Xbox 1, PS Vita, PS4 and PC I have very much noticed there are 100 levels in Volume as I watch with disappointment that completion percentage go up one by one. This thing is I didn’t notice that Mercenary Kings had 100 levels because I was eager to see what’s next. They are both indies, and they both have 100 levels. I’ve also been playing a lot of Mike Bithell’s Volume lately, a stealth game which is similar to Mercenary Kings in possible only 2 ways. Is huge amount of variance always a good thing? (Source: I don’t and never have owned PS Plus.)

There are a few missions you’ll have to repeat.īut I did unlock a knife like Cloud Strife’s Buster Sword and just sliced through anything which came near me so that was real cool.Īnd I all the way over here in glorious Japan, played the full 20 hours of the game pretty much exclusively in online co-op with Tweet Vita Review all the way in the United Kingdom and that was pretty cool and futuristic for me. You’d constantly be upgrading different parts of your weapon and then you’d tweak one little thing and find out that it was now completely unusable and start over. About 75% through the game I bought this absolutely tight ammo only to find out I wouldn’t be able to unlock a receiver which could use it until literally the final boss. Each gun you make has 8 different parts and not all of them work with each other. If you like guns you’ll probably like Mercenary Kings. So where does Mercenary Kings define itself?
You need to read no more.Īnd yet here you are, reading past the first screenshot. Well if you like Metal Slug you will probably like Mercenary Kings. It’s a hell of a lot longer and more complicated but the core is there.
